Tech Ed Tweets

This will be the last item on the Auckland Tech Ed.  I promise.  At least until next year.  The computerworld Fry Up today has a summary of tweets from the conference here.

I must agree I was surprised at how many presenters at the Code Camp used a Mac laptop for their presentations.  Are Apple sneaking those in under the radar?  I should reveal here I'm now doing all my Windows development on an iMac using virtual machines running VMWare Fusion.  They seem to run better than the old PC's I copied them from.

More Tech Ed News

Maybe all the local IT journalists are at Tech Ed. With all the other activity being so quiet, perhaps that is why the news is full of Tech Ed items to the exclusion of other events.

For BI users, one of the sessions was from Dave Thompson, the head of Business Intelligence at BNZ. He spoke on "Seven Critical Success Factors for BI Projects".  Some useful ideas here, but I have to point out that item 6 is "Data Quality can kill you".  Quality has always been important.  Always will be.

Full details of Dave's talk is here.  Next week is the Ingram Micro Showcase, so should see some new goodies there.
